September 6^th, 2011…I had an unexpected visitor come crawling into my garage last night; I was on the torch with the garage door propped open about a foot when I heard some rattling in the corner by my garden tools. I jumped up to get a closer look and saw a pinkish tail, then it jumped down behind LOTS of storage stuff. What is that I wondered, could it be an opossum? I knew it must be when it stopped all movement as I poked at the tools; knew it mustn’t have rabies because it was afraid of me. After long contemplation, I decided to shut down all my equipment and head inside for the night, leaving the garage door ajar for easy escape. I grabbed a bag of flour from the kitchen and headed out to the front yard to sprinkle it along the length of my garage door in hopes of finding exit tracks this morning. Sure enough, there were opossum tracks leading out from my garage, “yup, dem der be possum traks for shur, mmhmm”, thank goodness! First an earthquake, then a hurricane, now an opossum, could my life get any more exciting? ;-D

Important Update:Sunday 08/28/11…I am thankful to be alive and well in Virginia; power has been fully restored, I am back to making my beads. Hurricane Irene has graciously left my area causing minimal damage. Sadly, other areas have not been so lucky. My heart goes out to those who have suffered loss of lives, property damage and continued loss of power. May we all see brighter days ahead. Yours truly, Jettonne

August 23^rd, 2011… OMGosh! An earthquake in Virginia, started between Richmond and Charlotte Va.! First time for me! I felt the earth move under my feet, literally, while blowing shards in my garage! The entire house swayed up and down, side to side, in a ripple effect for about 20 seconds! It was a moving experience! Intense day! The power of natural forces!

January 5^th, 2011…My New Years Resolution: I vow to invest in a water filtration system for my home and to never support bottled water in my life ever again! Amen…One small yet BIG change that will make a difference in my health AND the environment. Our oceans are sadly becoming plastic soup, together we can make a difference. Please consider making that change yourself too, if you haven’t already done so, our planet depends on us to make the right choices. And please take it upon yourself to learn more about the plastic we drink from, it is toxic to our bodies. Now if we can only find a way to help stop the dolphin slaying in the cove located in Japan, so very very sad…

January 1^st, 2011…Happy New Year everyone!

December 2010…Momma asked me to create some post earrings to give as gifts for the holiday season this year; I pondered the idea and came up with a new design, lampwork glass created directly upon titanium post ear wires in my torch flame. Titanium is the perfect metal all around, hardy enough to withstand the excessive heat created from my torch, which allowed me to bond the glass securely to the posts, plus it’s a safe and versatile metal everyone can wear without hesitation, hypo-allergenic. We are enjoying our new earrings very much and hope you will too ;-D

Wednesday 11/10/10…Cooler weather sets in, dusting off my space heater; back to creating my Swim Swim Mermaids since early October, steadily working on many color variations, more to come…

Sunday 07/25/10…Woo Wee! Temperatures peaked at 103 degrees today in my garage! Looking forward to the slight cool front coming in, 90’s are a blessing compared to the 100’s! Through blood, sweat and tears, I continue lampworking on a dream…
